I have had moments when a vendor screamed at me down the phone.....

and all I wanted to do was scream back.

Tell them they were greedy.
Tell them their house isn’t special.
Tell them they are the reason the sale fell apart.

But I bite my tongue, smile, and said, “I understand.”

And the rage sats in my chest like poison often cured at the bottom of a bottle of wine.
