Any Estate Agent can make money, yet not every Estate Agent can get rich

There is no barrier to entry to being an Estate Agent The easiest way to make money as an Estate Agent is by providing exceptional service to your clients. You will reply, "Yes, I offer a great service to my vendors & landlords" What about your future clients? Are you giving them an exceptional service now? You need to service them with exceptional service months and years before they become a client. Is your content helpful, educational, interesting to future clients? PS Talking about your agency, your agency services, your listings, what you have sold is not 'exceptional service', its not, its not helpful, its not educational and whilst its interesting to you .. it isn't to you

Fearful Estate Agents

Doing the thing you are afraid of cures worries about doing it — It’s absurd, yet all of us know, be it asking someone on a date as a teenager or our first free val, the thing we worry about, it’s not nearly as hard as we thought it would be.  I bang in about utilising video in your agency marketing. I was putting it off for years, yet on the 23rd December 2016, I made my first video. The actual act of starting and publishing my first video made it easier to keep going.  How many of you have done a video and Always end up deleting it because you sounds strange or you had a few urrrs in it? Don’t forget, thinking about doing something makes the worry worse. PS let me tell you a secret- I still don’t listen to my own videos back. I don’t like the sound of my own voice and I don’t like the way I look. Yet that doesn’t stop me doing the videos - as it shouldn’t you

Remember, just because you lost the listing - doesn’t mean you lost the exchange

Estate Agency is about proving you are worth your fee, you ask homeowners for money to sell their largest tax free investment. Many times on big expensive homes or those in the South, you have to ask your vendor for a lot of money when it comes to your fee, because that is what you need to help them produce the result they want, desire and need.  If your Estate Agency services require a higher investment than your competitors to get the highest price on the shortest possible time, it can feel as if what you are offering is superior to your competitor agents. Yet asking for a large fee, even a worthwhile one, can be challenging. Being sensitive about the fee makes it more difficult to ask your client for what you need, at least until  your professional experience matures your view. As you spend more time valuing, you will start to recognise that much of the time, the prospective homeowners you lose often end up unhappy with your lower-fee agency competitors—and their decision to hi

The cost of being a successful Estate Agent

My parents always taught me if you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. My pocket money was stopped at 9yo and expected to work washing pots at the family Butchers shop. Its only now as I reflect as a ‘40 something’ they taught me that if I want anything valuable in life, my parents showed me have to pay for what you want in full before you can have it.  So if you believe that to be true, you also have to pay the price for success in Estate Agency, and the payment is due every single day before you get the success. You can’t get success as an agent on Credit or HPI In its place, you have to pay for the success of being the #1 agent in your town in full before you can obtain the result.  And once you get there, you need to continue to pay, yet is more like a maintenance fee than an expense. The earlier you begin making payments, the quicker you will have paid in full.  Yet the more you make excuses, tell yourself you will do it next week (yeah right), put off the hardwork for anoth
