Why Estate and Letting Agents Should Put More Effort Into Posting Their Content On LinkedIn

Most Estate Agents really misjudge the power of posting their content on LinkedIn. It might be it's because LinkedIn isn't "cool" like other social media platforms, Or probably it's because most agents go for short-term gains & totally forget about playing the long game. I sometimes ask my new estate or letting agents, when they sign up for my business generation services for their agency, "how did you initially hear about me?" The reply with the highest answer is 'LinkedIn', yet what I learn in the follow-up question is what matters. "Yes Chris, I initially saw you on Facebook. I have been following you for a few years now. Yet it's stuff on Linkedin which is a bit deeper that made me reach out to you when I decided I needed better content to attract landlords and vendors to my agency." Isn't that awesome? I spend zero pounds on LinkedIn adverts, just time spent, around 200 minutes a week, making the content and replying to

The Truth About Setting Up Your Own Estate Agency

Setting up your own Estate Agency (be it yourself or self-employed with a hub model) sounds amazing when the people selling you the dream are… well selling you the dream. Trust me - anyone who has set up their own business will tell you from the outside, being your own boss sounds aces. Time to watch your kids at their school’s sports day or watch their nativity play, no more tw*tty bosses to listen to... it sounds like a highly romanticised and awesome lifestyle. Trust me - it isn’t! The path to even getting to break even, let alone profit is a long and windy one and the moments of self-doubt are many and frequent. Yet, if you surround yourself with friends, acquaintances, guides, and gurus who show you the path, and pump life into you; if you trust in yourself and stick to the path and follow the breadcrumbs — it’s not only possible to be successful, trust me, it will be the most important decision you can make for you and your family’s life.

Estate Agent: You DON'T Have To Be Alone

What if we are going into recession? How will you deal with that as an Estate Agent? The best way is to find someone who has already traveled down that road that you could be on and can let you know what to look out for and what you can do. If they got through the 1988 housing crash and the 2008 housing crash they should be able to get through the next one, and I’ll be more than happy to share that with you Of course doing it yourself, alone, will certainly give you experience…which is just a pretty way of saying “struggle,” yet why not press the turbo button? Why not just fast forward to the good part? Find a mentor And the best part is - it doesn’t cost a penny to do! You could have an estate Agency mentor that has been there, done it, and seen it guiding and supporting you, at no cost or catch to your commitment. Estate Agents are Missing 97.8% of Vendors

Everyone running an Estate Agency business needs to start obtaining and collating an audience of local homeowners and landlords somewhere. Facebook adverts are not enough. Leaflets are not enough. Door knocking isn't enough. Only 2.2% of homeowners in your town will be putting their house on the market in the next 6 months. So many Estate Agents are spending all their time, efforts, and money on marketing to only get those 2.2%. Yet the smart ones are also spending time, effort, and money on capturing the other 97.8% when they are ready to list their home. The most advantageous way to do this is to have somewhere they can follow you, be that a LinkedIn profile or Facebook profile - even a Facebook group. You see when you do that, that audience traffic is YOURS That means for the 97.8% that won’t convert to listings now - you still own that audience traffic and will be able to get them to buy your estate agency services when they are ready. Why? Because when people follow YOU , they

A Lack of Time for Prospecting?

Are you an Estate Agent? Do you feel you feel as if you have a lack of time to prospect for listings? Many Estate and Letting Agents fit in their prospecting around dealing with their clients. Meaning they only prospect WHEN THEY HAVE THE TIME to prospect. And yet... The best Estate & Letting Agents do the opposite. They automatically prospect all the time, fitting in client work around their prospecting. They all agree that the best way to approach this is to ensure that they have made a diary entry to do so. If you do not allocate the time, there will never be time with everything else going on.
