Estate Agents: Your brand matters more than you think.

There are two types of marketing. Most agents only do one.

1. Sales Activation (short term)

Leaflets, portal ads, social posts saying “Just Listed” or “We’ve Sold”. It works… if someone’s already in the market.

2. Brand Building (long term).

Staying top of mind before someone decides to move. The stuff that makes people say, “I always see you around” or “You are the only agent I’d call.”

Guess which one most estate agents ignore?

Here’s the problem: if you only market to people already selling, you miss the 95% who aren’t… yet.

Want higher fees, more listings, and better conversions?

Build a brand they remember before they need you.

Then activate when they do.

The best agents do both.

The average ones just post “Just Sold”.

How do you build brand?

1. Publish weekly or monthly local market insights ….

Use data from portals, your CRM, or providers like TwentyEA to show how the market is moving in your patch. Keep it specific: average house prices, time to sell, number of homes coming on or off.

2. Explain what the data means for homeowners.

Don’t just dump numbers. Interpret them. Tell people what rising stock levels mean for their chances of selling or why buyer demand might affect their pricing strategy.

3. Be consistent and visible.

Post updates in the same format, on the same day, across the same platforms.

Familiarity builds trust. You want homeowners to think of you first when the time comes to sell. That’s brand.
