Everyone thinks being an estate agent is easy.
Stick a board up. Take a few photos. Whack it on Rightmove. Wait for the buyer to roll in. Collect the fee.
What a joke.
The reality? You are a counsellor, a negotiator, a problem solver, and sometimes even the emotional punchbag when everything goes wrong.
You deal with vendors who are clinging to fantasy prices. Buyers who pull out the night before exchange. Solicitors who ghost you for weeks. Chains that collapse like dominoes. And you are expected to smile through it all.
You get blamed when the market is slow, when the survey is bad, when the mortgage offer expires, when someone changes their mind. Everyone wants to shoot the messenger.
And yet… you keep showing up. You keep fighting for your clients. You keep making the calls no one else wants to make.
Because deep down you know this: moving home is one of the biggest moments in someone’s life, and you are the one who makes it happen.
Have a great bank holiday weekend (although no doubt you will be working most of it)
