You are going to an awards ceremony, you are nominated for an award, and then you don’t win

Not winning is a lot worse, than the feeling of winning.

Who doesn’t love putting their best DJ & posh frock on and going to an awards bash?

It’s only natural estate agencies should want their moment of glory.

They slog away in the background for years and years hoping to make punch the air with their trophy in front of hundreds of their piers

Losing awards feels significantly worse than the joy experienced when winning them.

Let me share a personal story

I was up for best growth of a U.K. client at Action Coach. My coach had won the same award because of my growth a few months before.

So it was all in the bag!!!

Err

Nope

Some other bl**dy firm won.

My ego was bruised - yet it taught me a lesson

Awards are OK, yet certainly not the be all & end all.

Awards aren't the goal. Impact is. Awards are just a shiny bonus. Keep your eyes on the real prize.

Awards are pretty good at putting a spotlight on you for a few hours, yet I think your potential clients are smarter than using awards as a proxy for deciding which estate agency to pick these days.

Awards aren't important, impact is......

Change lives - Create solutions - Solve problems - Make a dent in the universe

That's real success.
