 Why Do Estate Agents Fear the Word 'No'?


Estate agents are so desperate to be liked that they avoid rejection at all costs. Theyโ€™ll let sellers string them along, waste their time, and โ€œthink about itโ€ indefinitely.

The best valuers know that a fast no is better than a slow maybe. A decisionโ€”any decisionโ€”is better than waiting for one that never comes.

But agents donโ€™t think that way. Theyโ€™d rather chase false hope than deal with a tough conversation. Thatโ€™s why so many valuations never turn into instructions.

If youโ€™re an agent who keeps hearing โ€œweโ€™re still thinking,โ€ hereโ€™s some free advice: theyโ€™re not. Theyโ€™ve just chosen someone else and donโ€™t have the guts to tell you. Move on.
