 Why Do Estate Agents Fear the Word 'No'?


Estate agents are so desperate to be liked that they avoid rejection at all costs. They’ll let sellers string them along, waste their time, and “think about it” indefinitely.

The best valuers know that a fast no is better than a slow maybe. A decision—any decision—is better than waiting for one that never comes.

But agents don’t think that way. They’d rather chase false hope than deal with a tough conversation. That’s why so many valuations never turn into instructions.

If you’re an agent who keeps hearing “we’re still thinking,” here’s some free advice: they’re not. They’ve just chosen someone else and don’t have the guts to tell you. Move on.
