SHOULD YOU GO INTO SELF-EMPLOYED ESTATE AGENCY?

It seems all the rage at the moment with the likes of Keller Williams UK Estate Agents, eXp UK / eXp Realty , Fine & Country, Avocado Property, iad UK, The Property Experts, TAUK, Hortons, LsL etc filling the social airwaves with news about it. I have been part of noise as I have been interviewing these most excellent people on video about their model

I believe it is both the best and worst thing you can ever do as a Valuer / Lister to do

The best as it will enable you to enjoy your job as an agent more, not be chained to the desk between 0830 & 1800, see your kids more, earn more money, have a better life for your family- sounds awesome doesn’t it?

Or is it? Is it too good to be true?

If you are a decent lister - who can convert FV’s into listings at decent fees - before you start drop resignation letters - ask yourself this question?

Q. How many of the last 50 free Vals did you solely generate by your OWN actions?

How many by direct business generation techniques like picking the phone PERSONALLY over the last 4 months?

How many from door knocking?

How many from networking?

How many by ringing every person in your phone’s directory and asking if they know anyone about to move?

..because you are going to have to do all that yourself Mr ‘Pretty Boy Great at converting yet a bit $hite at Biz Gen’ Lister

.. and that’s my fear. Most listers are great at converting free Vals yet shocking at generating them.

Most listers can’t business Generate for toffee (note I say most - not all)

... becuase your self employed agency model isn’t going to get you the free Vals - YOU HAVE TO!
