Are You A bragging Egotistical Estate Agent?

Who exactly are you creating your Estate Agency content for?

Many Estate Agents expect 1000s of views, shed loads of comments, and engagement like a 🚀

Yet in reality, they are really only creating content for one person

Themselves

ie. their own ego

Let me give you an example.

An awful lot of estate agents will post that they have exchanged contracts on a particular property. They will say how proud they are to have achieved the sale and what they have done to do that. They’re making themselves the hero.

In my humble opinion when you become more important than the client, that is egotistical

So you might ask, how do I get across that I am a great estate agent?

Well, I’m not suggesting for one minute that you don’t talk about your successes but you need to make your vendor and buyer the hero.

You need to become Obi-Wan Kenobi (the guide) not Luke Skywalker who is the hero.

So if you’ve had a particularly difficult property you could mention something like this

“I just want to congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Smith as buyers and sellers of Acacia Avenue in what turned out to be a really difficult property sale. With barriers and hurdles put up by solicitors, accountants, surveyors, and mortgage brokers at some point we didn’t think we would get everyone moved to their next dream home.

However my colleagues Jayne and Babs were able to negotiate the maze of the property conveyancing process and I’m pleased to say that Property has exchanged contracts today, meaning next week everyone will be in their next forever home”

Note how you have made the buyer and the seller heroes and your colleagues

...but you’re not bragging about yourself.

However you are seen as the guide, the Obi-Wan Kenobi of the story, and as such bask in their sunlight
