I just got an message via Linkedin ..
“Dear Christopher
We have just started our lettings agency! It’s called ****** Property Services
Check our website out (website link).
For the first 50 landlords we will charging half price fees, please share this email with as many landlords in the town.. it will mean so much to us
Please like our Facebook page (Facebook Page-Link)
Kind regards
Catherine *******”
The insincerity in this email is mind blowing.
All me-me-me – all take..take..take
Doesn’t Catherine realise the irony that all the hard work and thousands she has spent on her lettings agent has gone down the drain by sending this kind of message to her connections on Linkedin or email database
What Catherine should have realised is that there is a huge difference between just making contact and making a significant and meaningful impression to the punter she was trying to attract
The impression you hope to make begins one person at a time long before the day you open your agency
If we as letting (and estate) agents are not prepared to spend just as much time understanding how the landlords and potential house sellers we hope to manage/sell their property with FEEL, as we do developing our lettings and estate agency services, then we haven’t earned the right to make contact them.
So instead asking, what can our marketing do for us, the really question to ask first of any lettings/estate agency marketing tactic is,
“Is this marketing giving more or taking away?”
Giving wins every time.
