Estate agency is full of actors.

I have smiled while wanting to scream.

Ihave congratulated buyers I can’t stand.

I have reassured vendors when I know the deal is dead.

I have swallowed abuse from strangers because it’s “part of the job.”

And then I go home and pour a drink to take the edge off.

Behind the smile, there is a human being falling apart.

But no one ever asks how the estate agent is coping.
