Are some letting agents discriminatory?

don't ask this lightly, but are letting agents being discriminatory, if they put signs in their windows, saying this?

NO DSS signs in your window. Yes, that is exactly what I am asking.

You might say, yes Chris, we have such signs and hey let's its make double sure, and put it on the door, so the stupid chavs can read it before they walk through our door and waste our timeGenius!
Guess what, there is no legal requirement that you have to have signs have to make you sound like a ‘Kuwaiti Tanker’ (I was going to say a rude word but thought I best not) in order to inform the general public.

I don’t know about you, but when I see signs like the ones below, it makes my blood boil...
  • Toilets Only For Patrons Only
  • Not Responsible For Any Damage To Your Car Lost Or Stolen
  • All Breakages Must Be Paid For
.. wouldn't it be better to say?
  • Our spotlessly loos are for our treasured customers only, so come on in and buy something! Also, there's a public loo in the library round the corner on Guildhall Street.
  • Whilst we love to keep an eye on your car, we are way too busy selling lovely stuff to ensure your pride and joy is OK. Also, pop anything valuable in the boot .. out of sight! Cheers
  • We keep our prices as low as possible to keep our customers happy, so can we ask your keep your kids happy whilst you are in our lovely shop, as we cant afford for them break our keenly priced stuff for nothing
... and for lettings agents ..  how about no sign whatsoever .. and when people do come through the door and ask, ‘do you take ‘aaaausing benny-fitz’, you can politely say, ‘We look at each tenant who is on DSS on a individual basis’

It is my personal opinion that some people , who happen to claim DSS 'aaasing benefitz'  are scum sucking pond life, just as there are people who arent on DSS, who are also scum sucking pondlife. In my many years, some of my best tenants are people, decent people, that just happen to have to claim Housing benefit. Such crass signs turn those good tenants away and even worse, create a bad feeling in that part of the community. So what you might ask, they are landlords. Sorry, bad is bad, no matter where it comes from
Now here is a killer idea. Say, you have a DSS tenant clinic on a Tuesday afternoon. Its completely free of charge and lasts 10 minutes an appointment, but the prospective tenant has to make an appointment. At the appointment, you can explain the process and how the guarantor system works. The advantage is, by coming on appointment, they can be pre-approved (which means nothing as its subject to credit checks etc etc) but it makes them feel special and engenders a good feeling about your agency to the wider town. If they can’t be bothered to come back to the appointment, they were  waste of space anyway, but if they did, then as most letting agents know, a large majority of DSS tenants make some of the very best tenants there is!

If you think I am talking rubbish, that's your opinion. If you havent got time for the clinic, no stress, but please take those signs down
